We are delighted to announce the inaugural Wellington College Poetry Competition for schools. Judged by acclaimed poet Roger McGough, the competition is in two categories: 8-13 and 14-18 (age on 27th May 2011). Prizes are as follows: £100 for the overall winner and £50 for two runners up (one from each age category). The prize-winning poems and a selection of others commended by Roger McGough will be sent to all those whose poem appears in it, and to their school.
Prize-winners and commended poets will be invited to Wellington College's ArtsFest to attend the announcement and distribution of prizes and to hear Roger McGough give an eagerly anticipated recital of his own poems. This will take place on Tuesday 28th June at 7.30pm.
